Native Shelter is an architecture design & development firm focusing on merging narratives of contemporary & vernacular building systems in residential architecture. Area of specialty is new construction of single family residences.

Native Shelter's initial thesis and continued project explores ideas of one to one relationships with architecture. Considerations of form, texture and scale inform architecture that is inherently "native" to occupant rather than place. In turn, the autonomy of participants with respect to self, site and shelter establishes composition and clarity rather than collision.

Joseph Adam Dunn began practicing Architecture in 2007. Since then, he has helped design numerous projects, including a net-zero solar powered house in 2011, an 18k sq ft concrete house in 2012, and a triplex for his mother’s three dogs just the other day. Adam holds a Master's Degree in Architecture (M.Arch) from the Southern California Institute of Architecture and a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
